The XIV workshop of the International School on Magnetic Resonance and Brain Function (ISMRBF), will be held from the 24th to the 29th of October 2025 in Erice (Italy) at the premises of the Ettore Majorana Foundation and Centre for Scientific Culture. These workshops give the chance for scientists working at the intersection of MRI development and neuroscience applications to gather, discuss the latest results and establish new collaborations.
Recent breakthroughs in MRI instrumentation and techniques are revolutionizing neuroscience, directly fueled by the growing demand from researchers leveraging MRI as the most suitable non-invasive tool for exploring human brain structure and function. Beyond its core capabilities, the ISMRBF continues to champion multimodal and multiparametric approaches. MRI inherent flexibility allows for diverse contrast enhancements, enabling sensitivity to a wide array of biophysical phenomena. Moreover, its potentials are extended through synergistic combinations with other modalities like electrophysiology, optical imaging, and PET-based molecular imaging. This fusion of information, both within and across modalities, is unlocking unprecedented potential, effectively complementing MRI's strengths and addressing its limitations as a standalone technique.
